With the present technology state it’s common to have distributed servers running multiple instances of software. I have however noticed the issue is the same with the UPD mounted, and with a Temporary profile.Software solution to create unified UI and remotely manage multiple distributed applications via HTTPS. This issue doesnt exist in the other RemoteApp farms we manage, we use the same version of Office for all farms, same version of Windows Server, and they are all part of the same Remote Desktop deployment (Same GW, CB, etc.) The only thing that's different between the farms is the aforementioned difference in Dynamics version, aswell as the user profile disks. The issue presents itself on all 4 Sessionhosts in the farm. This is obviously an issue for our users as they use Excel to import/export data from Dynamics AX. Even if the user closes their Excel windows, the error continues to trigger until all Excel.exe processes are gone from the session. When this happens in Excel, I.E Excel has more than 1 process on a singulare user session, an intermittent error is posted as its own RemoteApp RDP window, saying: "Microsoft Excel is waiting for another application to complete an OLE action" This error will trigger over and over again, until either an admin closes the Excel processes via task manager, or the user logs off. This isnt an issue in itself, the core issue of why I've posted this question, is Excel.

This stacks, for what seems indefinitely. If I however, close my original Word app, and then open another one, the original process stays open, and another Word.exe is created. Opening Word via RDweb starts 1 Word.exe process on my session, if I open several more Word apps via rdweb, only 1 process exists on my session. I managed to break this down to the following: In the farm running Dynamics AX2009 we have 4 Session hosts, recently ( about a month or so ago ) we started to notice that multiple instances of different Office applications were open on singular usersessions. Hi! My company runs a couple of parallel MS RemoteApp farms, separated based on which version of Dynamics AX version we need to run.
